Please excuse the strange title, it was not meant to be a reference to the 1989 movie nor have any relationship or allusion to any group or society. The purpose of this writing is to call attention to a serious issue within Christendom today. This document started out as a topic for a podcast and it quickly became something more. Since the subject is very dear to me, I apologize if I offend anyone in my bluntness. I have used the expression “offending someone to heaven,” many times in my ministry, but never so explicitly towards fellow believers. Which is why this preface is more of a disclaimer than an introduction or overview. My prayer is that readers will be encouraged to reignite their relationship with Jesus and embrace the Bible, to ‘rediscover’ how vital it is in our lives as Christians. In order to explain my concern for “lukewarm Christianity,” I have for the first time in anything I have written included my testimony. As the problem is indeed real, but there is a solution.
